Install HoloScript

Four steps from nothing to compiled output. No account, no key, no sign-up. Everything on this page runs on your own machine.

1. Install the command-line tool

npm install @holoscript/cli

Takes a couple of minutes. It brings its own dependencies; you do not need anything else installed first.

2. Check it is there

npx holoscript --help

It prints its version and its commands: parse, run, compile, fmt, build, repl, watch, traits, generate.

3. Write six lines

Save this as hello.holo. It describes one cyan sphere.

composition "Hello" { object "orb" { @mesh { shape: "sphere", radius: 1 } @material { baseColor: "#00e5ff" } } }

4. Check it, then compile it

npx holoscript parse hello.holo

It answers "Validation successful". That is the language reading your file and agreeing with it.

npx holoscript compile hello.holo --target threejs

That prints Three.js source for your sphere. The same file compiles to other targets; run the help text to see which.
